The play is
set at a summer camp inside the human body. The Counselors and Campers
are cells, including Heart Cells and Red and White Blood Cells.
It is visiting
day at the camp. The audience is cast in the role of parents and
family members who are on a tram tour of the camp.
The tram starts
in the Brain, visiting three cabins: the bone marrow (Red Blood
Cell cabin), the lymph node (White Blood Cell cabin), and the Heart.
Traveling in
arteries between cabins, the tram encounters Emotions crossing,
an Enzyme Demolition Crew clearing a road block and an Endocrine
Mail System.
The tour is
also treated to two of the Brain's dreams, one about the quest of
a Bald Babboon for freckles to eat and the other about Fairy Princesses
protecting a Gnome from a Witch.
An unexpected
detour takes the tram to the pancreas where we meet the London Flu
on their way to the Brain to take over and disrupt the body.
All cells are
advised to keep arms and legs (if you have them) inside the tram
and enjoy the tour of Camp In-The-Body! |
